Re: Project RockClod
newest update:
DIG
using my micro servo from the trx 1/16 slash to pull the brush out from the rear motor. This way i can pull the rig in a real tight corner.
ordered the Honcho race cage from my LHS today to fit the body thats now on the chassis.

Re: Project RockClod
by pulling the brush from the rear motor via the micro servo cuts power to that motor via 3CH and allows the rig to "DIG" cutting around xtreme corners when needed.

Re: Project RockClod
change of plans....
i could do the brush setup but i will be using the micro servo ontop a platofrm i already have to control a switch on the negative side of the rear motor. this will be a clean install!
all i need is some time and drill holes throguh my center skidplate, mount up this raised platform, install the servo to it. From there the swiitch will be located directly under the servo. This will cut my power to the rear motor!

Re: Project RockClod
Well that is much cleaner and better than jerking the brush outta the holder, aint sure thats the best for the commutator either ,

Re: Project RockClod
after getting home from work....
tinkering with what i had here, i discovered that the micro servo sat nice and snug right under my platform. all i had to do is use zip ties to keep it in place for assurance!
goin through my box of clod & crawler shit, i also found the original power switch to hopefully use as my DIG switch. This is where maybe mike woud have an idea if it can handle the amperage from a 50-60+ turn motor?

Re: Project RockClod
I doubt the power / economy switch would handle that kinda power... after is just a cheep hard plastic switch I maybe a metal cased switch from radio shack would be better. less chance of meltdown under high load....

Re: Project RockClod
i figured it was but thought id ask anyhow.
i seen my LHS had some switch but cant remember what
it was for? it was just as big as this economy switch.
i also have the "ground" wire desoldered from the motor and a length of 18g silicone wire from the motor which will reach the switch.
just need a switch!! :P

Re: Project RockClod
was up lastnight til 2am....
stripped the clod down to bare-bone and threadlocked all nuts & bolts now that it functions how i want it. As you have noticed i have gone back to the piggyback shox as they give me far more then enuff articulation. Ive done a few mild mods to make those work as they were contacting the motor leads on articulation before.
Just waiting for the honcho racecage to install to the rearend.
then when i get the cash ill grab some nice 50t-60t motors.
