My Aquariums
Im long over due for a thread for my Aquariums.
Ive been keeping/raising and breeding fish for about 7 years now.
I'll start this off with details about my 90 Gallon AGA Tank and DIY Stand.
I had sold all of my stuff and then bought a bunch of stuff a few months later.
I picked up a 90 Gallon with a Pine Stand out of Spring Valley Illinois for a steal of a price.
Fiance and I went and picked it up, it is now my nicest set up ive got.
It consist of a 90G AGA (All Glass Aquariums) Tank that measures 48x19x24".
the stand that it is currently sitting on is one of my own creations.
I built the stand in my parents garage.
My Equipment currently -
Rena XP4
Rena XP2
Pressurized CO2
DIY CO2 Reactor
Hagen Glo 4x54W T5HO lighting
Fluval M250 Heater
Here are some pictures of the 90 over the past 2-3 years.
First fill up at my Dad's house
Some inside shots of my layout at the time
CO2 Reactor
Older pictures of it set up and growing plants.
Fast forward about a year
Then we moved
And here it is today

Re: My Aquariums
Next up is a little 20L, Its a 20 Gallon, the L stands for Long.
it is basically 2 10 gallon tanks side by side.
Ive had this aquarium set up for about 2 years now and am yet to put fish in, (no shit) Ive changed my plans as to what fish im going to keep in it more then a dozen times. I built the stand in my Dad's basement, it is far from perfect but is exactly what i wanted.
Here is a list of the equipment ive currently got running on it
Marineland Stealth Pro 50w heater
Eheim 2232 canister filter
Coralife 2x24w T5HO Lighting
Only pictures ive currently got of it, i just took these today.

Re: My Aquariums
And here we go, next on the list is going to be my 40B.
its a 40 gallon aquarium, the B stands for Breeder.
These taks are great for breeding fish, and have nearly the perfect dimensions for a decent sized planted tank that is easy to scape.
Ive wanted one of these for years, a couple of months ago i finally bought one!
About twice a year Petco has a sale that consists of a few aquariums that they sell for $1 per gallon, i paid $46ish for this 40B that retails for around $110.
Im yet to put any fish in it, its up and running and will be ready for fish in about another week. This will be a planted tank.
I built the stand for it here at home in our basement.
Its equipment consists of the following
Fluval M100 heater
Rena XP3
Zoomed AquaSun 2x39W T5HO Lighting
Pressurized CO2
And here are some pictures ive taken over the past few months.

Re: My Aquariums
Alrighty, i saved the biggest for last.
Well, its the last aquarium ive purchased at this point atleast.
I see 3 or 4 more in the future for us.
But here it is, its a 6ft long 125g aquarium.
I bought it from a younger guy in Chicago.
Its drilled and came with a wet/dry sump.
I should have taken some pictures when i first got it home.
It was a mess! Back of the tank was painted sky blue with acrylic paint. I fought and fought the paint trying to remove it without removing any of my fingers. I got the paint stripped down, the inside was coated with hard water deposits and gunk.
I painted the back of the aquarium with a paint roller and black latex paint.
I use this method on all of my aquariums that get painted.
It cleaned up real nicely. I decided not to use the sump and am using 2 cannister filters. Using both drilled holes for my intakes for each filter.
This aquarium also received a DIY stand by my self. It however did not receive a pretty finish. I simply spray painted it black with gloss black spray paint to match other furniture in the basement.
Here are a number of pictures ive taken over the course of building the stand and setting up the aquarium.
Blue acrylic paint that once covered the entire back side of the aquarium + both sides. YUCK
Marineland Tidepool 2 sump system
Its out of date, its missing roughly $120 worth of parts
Not going to use it

They get large, i dont suggest them unless your planning to pick her up something that is 50+ gallons.

Carlos
Oscar's get very large.
those are meat eaters, they like to feed on other fish.
They can get 12 + inches in length.

Re: My Aquariums
How about a rather large update for the 125 gallon 6 footer.
We have got fish!
Took 2 trips out to Lincoln Illinois, which is about an hour drive 1 way.
First trip out we spent $75 on fish, and today we went back and spent $70.
We have got 21 fish currently in the 125G including a real small Bristle Nose Pleco.
Here are a few pictures
Tore it down today to reset the landscape for the new additions.
Here is how it sits now.
