WILDFIRE CLODBUSTER MONSTER TRUCK
Well this is an old ClodBuster I rescued. Jason and I decided to do a complete rebuild and make the chassis and all the 4 links and shock towers. so basicaly this is a custom truck, I will be runnin it in the RC MTRA this 2011 season. here is a few of what we started with and where it went....
this is what it was when I got it home
We started with some 1/8 channel and some 1/8 plate material, also used some 1" angle and a few pieces of 3/4 angle all 6061 aluminum.
with a lil cutting and sanding and a lil file work we had a couple rails and the center stirrup all built. is held together with 8/32 socket screws and locknuts throughout
next up was to make the steering plate and the upper and lower shock mounts, Jason did all the work making these on the belt sander and the drill press...
Upper shock mounts
Lower shock mounts
Lower shock mounts and upper link mounts
Steering Plate setup. will be one front and rear, the servo will mount down on the plate with a direct steering setup. will also be a bash guard on the front to protect the servo some.....
4 Links and Chassis crossmembers, Jason also made all these. they are 10 mm dia with a carbon core sleeved with aluminum tube. very stout stuff here
sitting as a roller, still need to do some finish work but is coming along nicely. as you can see there are Savage shocks on there, just stock plastic for now, but will prolly get some sweet aluminum units soon enuff...
sitting there waiting on the body mounts and the electronics to be put in. the blue plate on top is the radio tray and the batteries will be mounted down low on the lower blue plate. will be powered with an EVX Esc and 2 21 turn Titan Motors....
Electronics all in. will be installing the motors as soon as I get the new 13 tooth pinions from Jakes this weekend.... the black hoops are the body mounts and rollover hoops to keep my electronics safer in case the body does come off. it will be held on with velcro so no ugly body posts showing, paint the body is next.....
Jason did his usual great masking job on this one. the WildFire letters were hand cut from tape, and then put on as a mask inside.... he had to cut the letters backwards too and I am really happy how the body turned out.
Hope ya all like the project. will have some updates soon with a lil vid of it running on the MTRA track
Thanks for looking

Re: WILDFIRE CLODBUSTER MONSTER TRUCK
Ok here's what I been waiting for. first test day for the new truck.....
remember I am using a 2 stick radio. the steering is front on the right thumb along with throttle. rear steer is on the left thumb....
Very Interesting to say the least....
is fast as hell and jumps good too. so now to get used to running with the steering on sticks instead of a wheel
in these 2 Jason has the wheel. you can is a handful to keep under control and pointing in the winning direction....

Re: WILDFIRE CLODBUSTER MONSTER TRUCK
Well last weekend we took the Clod over to the Water Park and brought out a ramp he made. WildFire jumped it a few times then started makin a clickin noise in the gearcase on the rear. took it apart today and this is what I found , no other damage than the counter gear so will be an easy fix for the old girl.....
Hope ya enjoy the was fun breakin em
